"Western Tamahagane" refers to a type of steel made using Western steelmaking techniques, designed to replicate the traditional Tamahagane used in Japanese swords before the Meiji era. Like Tamahagane, it is an ultra-pure carbon steel with extremely low impurities. This blade uses a multi-layer forged structure with a twisted Damascus-style cladding. At its core is Böhler K990 steel, Mizuyaki heat-treated to significantly enhance both sharpness and edge retention.
