🏷 Brand Introduction|Shoichi Hashimoto
Born in Hiroshima in 1982, Shoichi Hashimoto describes himself as a “metal-forming blade artist.”
A graduate of Hiroshima City University’s Department of Design and Formative Arts,
he apprenticed under master Takanori Mikami, specializing in Damascus forging and metal art.
Each Hashimoto blade is personally crafted by his own hands —
from design and forging to assembly and final polishing — achieving a true 100% handmade ethos.
His works, such as “Futaba” and “Suigetsu (Water Moon)”,
embody sculptural beauty and the seamless unity of blade, handle, and sheath.
Despite his analog lifestyle — still using a flip phone and taking orders by fax —
Hashimoto is a regular exhibitor at the Seki Knife Fair, Tokyo Knife Show, and New York Custom Knife Show.
To witness his knives in person is to realize that they are not merely tools,
but living sculptures in steel.
