Brand Introduction:
⭕Sakai Takayuki is a brand of Aoki Hamono Co., Ltd., inheriting over 600 years of Sakai blade-making tradition. Sakai is one of Japan’s three major knife-producing regions, originally renowned for samurai swords. In the 16th century, the development of tobacco knives led to the rise of high-quality handcrafted kitchen knives, which later became exclusive products of the Edo shogunate. Through repeated forging of soft iron and steel, the blades achieve exceptional sharpness and durability.
Sakai Takayuki offers a wide range of knives, including single-bevel and double-bevel, Japanese and Western styles, exported to over 100 countries worldwide. In recent years, the “Sakai Takayuki Knife Gallery & Lounge” has combined knives, art, and culinary experiences, allowing visitors to explore traditional craftsmanship and Japanese blade culture more deeply.
Knife Model Introduction:
⭕The Sujihiki is primarily designed for trimming meat and removing sinew. Its long, thin blade easily glides between meat and connective tissue for clean separation. It is also commonly used for slicing large cuts of fish for sushi or sashimi, such as tuna loin. It can be considered a versatile alternative between a Gyuto and a Yanagiba.
