🏷Brand Introduction|Shoichi Hashimoto
Born in 1982 in Hiroshima, Japan, Shoichi Hashimoto describes himself as a “metal-forming blade artist.”
A graduate of Hiroshima City University’s Department of Design and Formative Arts,
he also served as a research assistant in metal art before training under master Takanori Mikami.
Hashimoto’s craft merges artistry and functionality,
creating Damascus-style knives celebrated for their sculptural beauty and precision performance.
Every step—from design and forging to assembly and final polishing—is performed entirely by hand,
embodying the philosophy of complete craftsmanship.
Signature collections such as “Futaba” and “Suigetsu (Water Moon)”
demonstrate his mastery of form and balance, where handle, blade, and sheath flow as one unified design.
Despite his analog lifestyle—still using a flip phone and receiving orders by fax—
Hashimoto is a regular exhibitor at the Seki Knife Fair, Tokyo Knife Show, and New York Custom Knife Show.
To see his work in person is to understand:
it is not merely a knife, but a work of metal sculpture.
