Description
The “UKIMON” series is crafted by the Japanese knife manufacturer G・SAKAI,
built upon the concept of Japanese × Modern Collaboration.
It blends traditional ukiyo-e artistry with modern metalworking techniques,
creating a pocket folding knife that balances artistic beauty and functional performance.
The newly designed Tanto-style blade is inspired by the traditional Japanese short sword.
Its sharp angles, strong piercing capability, and clean silhouette have gained wide international appeal.
This series was exhibited in 2017 at the CASA GIFU II Design Show in Milan,
where it drew significant attention for its fusion of culture and craftsmanship.
⚔️ Blade Craftsmanship
Constructed with 31-layer Damascus with a VG-10 core,
providing excellent sharpness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and long-lasting edge retention.
The blade displays elegant layered patterns, reflecting the sophistication of Japanese sword aesthetics.
A nail-mark groove is integrated near the blade opening, inspired by traditional Japanese swords.
Each knife is individually adjusted by Japanese craftsmen to ensure smooth and stable operation.
