"Ken-Sho" is a synthetic whetstone created through collaboration between the sharpening masters of Yuzan Yoshihiko Blade Store and a natural whetstone retailer. After over a year of trials and adjustments, these whetstones were designed with deep consideration of their specific roles and are ensured to perform effectively. The Ken-Sho series is designed to start with coarser stones and gradually progress to finer grits for improved cutting results. Highly recommended for those who demand rigorous grinding standards and seek precise sharpening and superior cutting performance.

⭕ The Ken-Sho Success Series whetstones are crafted as a culmination of the technical knowledge in stone making accumulated up to now, and the feedback from numerous users, serving as a summary of the Heisei era. These stones are made with domestically sourced high-purity abrasives fired at low temperatures, resulting in a harder stone that is more resistant to indentation than previous iterations in the Success series. They are capable of sharpening a wide variety of steel materials to produce keen edges. Additionally, for flat surfaces like plane blades, these stones also serve as an excellent option for honing edges or transitioning to natural stones.

Please soak in water to absorb moisture before use. Due to handmade processing, dimensions may vary slightly. Due to its resistance to indentation, some flat stones may cause the surface to become smooth, which might feel slippery when starting to grind. Use a diamond lapping stone to maintain a flat surface.
